Introduction

Ridzee Private Limited ("RiDZEE", "we", "our", or "us") operates a technology-enabled ride-hailing platform connecting riders with driver-partners across Raipur, Chhattisgarh and surrounding areas including Durg, Bhilai, Bilaspur, Korba, Rajnandgaon, Jagdalpur, and other cities in the state of Chhattisgarh, India.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile applications (Android & iOS), website (ridzee.com), and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

This policy complies with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA) of India.

Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Registration: Full name, mobile number, email address, profile photo, gender, and date of birth.
  • Driver-Partner Information: Driving licence number, vehicle registration certificate (RC), Aadhaar number (for verification), PAN card, bank account / UPI ID, insurance details, and photographs.
  • Payment Information: UPI IDs, wallet balances, transaction history, and payment preferences. We do not store full credit/debit card details.
  • Communications: Support tickets, in-app chat messages, feedback, ratings, and reviews.
  • Emergency Contacts: Names and phone numbers of your designated emergency contacts.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Location Data: Real-time GPS location (foreground & background during active rides), pickup/drop-off coordinates, route data, and frequently visited areas within Raipur and Chhattisgarh.
  • Device Information: Device model, operating system, unique device identifiers (IMEI, advertising ID), IP address, browser type, app version, and network information.
  • Usage Data: App usage patterns, ride history, search queries, ride frequency, preferred routes (e.g., Raipur Railway Station to VIP Road, Shankar Nagar to Pandri), session duration, and feature interactions.
  • Log Data: Crash logs, error reports, referral URLs, and timestamps of actions performed on the Platform.

2.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Identity verification services (Aadhaar-based eKYC, DigiLocker).
  • Background check agencies for driver-partner screening.
  • Payment gateways (Razorpay, Paytm, PhonePe, Google Pay) for transaction processing.
  • Google Maps / mapping services for ride routing and ETA calculation.
  • Social media platforms if you choose to sign in using Google or Facebook.

How We Use Your Information

  • Provide & improve services: Match riders with nearby driver-partners, calculate fares, optimise routes across Raipur city and outstation routes to Durg, Bhilai, Bilaspur, and Jagdalpur.
  • Safety & security: Real-time ride tracking, SOS/emergency features, driver background verification, fraud detection, and accident detection.
  • Payments: Process ride payments, issue refunds, manage wallet top-ups, and facilitate driver-partner payouts.
  • Communication: Send ride confirmations, OTPs, receipts, promotional offers, and service updates via SMS, push notifications, email, or WhatsApp.
  • Personalisation: Recommend rides based on past travel patterns, offer location-specific promotions (e.g., discounts for Raipur airport rides or Marine Drive routes).
  • Legal compliance: Comply with applicable Indian laws, respond to lawful government and law enforcement requests, and resolve disputes.
  • Analytics: Analyse ride demand in different areas of Raipur and Chhattisgarh to improve service coverage and driver-partner allocation.
  • Promotions & referrals: Administer referral programs, promo codes, and loyalty rewards for riders and drivers.

Information Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with:

  • Driver-Partners / Riders: Name, photo, vehicle details, live location, and contact number are shared between matched riders and drivers for ride fulfilment.
  • Service Providers: Payment gateways, cloud hosting (AWS/GCP), SMS providers, mapping services, analytics tools, and customer support platforms.
  • Law Enforcement: When required by court order, subpoena, or applicable Indian law including requests from Raipur Police, Chhattisgarh State authorities, or RTO.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • Insurance Partners: To process ride insurance or accident claims.
  • Emergency Services: Your live location may be shared with emergency contacts or authorities during an SOS event.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • AES-256 encryption for data at rest and TLS 1.3 for data in transit.
  • Role-based access controls and multi-factor authentication for internal systems.
  • Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Tokenization of sensitive payment data.
  • Secure API endpoints with JWT authentication and rate limiting.
  • SOC 2 compliant cloud infrastructure.

While we strive to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We encourage users to use strong passwords and not share their OTPs or account credentials.

Data Retention

  • Active accounts: Data is retained as long as your account is active.
  • Post-deletion: After account deletion, we retain certain data for up to 180 days for legal, regulatory, fraud prevention, and dispute resolution purposes.
  • Ride history & transaction records: Retained for up to 8 years as required by Indian tax and financial regulations.
  • Location data: Anonymised and aggregated location data may be retained indefinitely for analytics and service improvement.
  • Legal holds: Data may be retained longer if required by ongoing legal proceedings or regulatory obligations.

Your Rights

Under the DPDPA 2023 and applicable Indian law, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information via the app or by contacting support.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal data via our Account Deletion page.
  • Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent for specific data processing activities (e.g., marketing communications).
  • Data Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Grievance Redressal: File a complaint with our Grievance Officer or the Data Protection Board of India.

Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Our website and app may use:

  • Essential Cookies: For login sessions, security, and basic functionality.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics to understand usage patterns.
  • Push Notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging for ride updates and promotions.

Children's Privacy

RiDZEE is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18 years. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we discover that a child's data has been collected without parental consent, we will promptly delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be notified via in-app notification, push notification, or email. Continued use of the Platform after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
